Week 7 Results
1st ($75 / 10pts): Eric "Cut Sack" Hepburn
2nd ($0/ 7pts): Margaret "Bedtime" Bridgeman
3rd ($0 / 4pts): Randall "2nd Best Wins" Ryan
Low Stakes /10 Players / 1 Table / 12:45a Endtime
This one could be called "The Night of Bad Beats." Ok, so 'bad beat' may be harsh, but players with the 2nd best pre- and post-flop hands were catching trips, straights and flushes throughout the game. There was certainly no lack for drama:
-Martin played some of his best poker early, only to have his huge stack systematically knocked down by various players and ultimately finished out of the points. (Nothing like staying up until midnight with nothing to show for it and having to catch a 6am flight, eh Martin?)
-Dallas bled slowly all night before determining that Randall could be his personal banker, and almost parlaying that into a victory. Alas, there were 2 other players at the table with a clue, and Dallas finished 4th.
-Possibly the worst beats of the night came from Randall: Dan all in, his pocket-and-subesquently trip Js going down to Randall's AQ in the form of trip Qs on the turn. Not to be outdone, Ray went all-in with pocket As vs. Randall's pocket Qs, only to lose to a heart flush out of nowhere on the river.
The final 4 of Margaret, Dallas, Randall & Eric saw 3 of the players trading chips, each going from stacky to near-death. Only Eric seemed to constantly maintain his stack, and ultimately prevailed as Dallas went out solo, and Eric took out both Margaret and Randall on the next hand.
"It's my bagina and I'll cry if I want to," torn corneas, vasectomies and coming in a barrel would have been enough fodder for most evenings. However, Dan getting clipped and flipped driving down Cesar Chavez, seat belt failing, being ejected from his truck, only to be screamed at by the woman who caused the accident has to rank as one of the all-time Bizarro World highs. Perhaps it is indeed time for Texas to actually force people to pass a driving test...
