Week 11 Results - 10/24/06
1st ($60 / 10pts): Margaret "Sleepwalking" Bridgeman
2nd ($0/ 7pts): Daniel "Let's Get It Over With" Osborne
3rd ($0 / 4pts): Dallas "The Stalker" Dickinson
Low Stakes / 8 Players / 1 Table / 115a Endtime / Location: NicMan's
Held at Margaret & Lee's house, and since we both have to get up at 6am, we decided to limit the game to 8 players so as to end faster. Ha! T'was not to be.
The game started as Girls' Night Out, with Margaret and Laura B combining for six kills in the first four rounds (Laura had four). But we love no-limit because of the wild swings of fortune, and big stack Laura (around 45K-50K) came tumbling down in a mere three hands: Margaret hit her hard when KK beat QQ, then Daniel took most of the rest when his trip 8s beat her K-10 two pair.
Daniel then finished her off with a flourish, not only taking her meager remains but simultaneously killing Ken N and taking his 37K.
Laying in wait was Dallas, who quietly took some big laydowns from MB and DO to spring from meek small stack to big: entering Round 7, the standings were Dallas 83K, Daniel 68K, Margaret 41K. Marg and Dallas bled out to Daniel for a while, but then Margaret crushed Dallas with AA vs. AJ to pull even with Daniel. Mister Osborne then finished Dallas off and thus began the trench warfare that lasted well into Wednesday. Finally, Margaret -- despite being completely loopy with exhaustion -- damaged Daniel when her boat rammed his ill-advised call of 7 matched with 7 on the board; finally, Daniel gave in to the attrition and went all-in with a Q5; Margaret held A-10 and retired to bed.
