Week 25 Results: Sleep FTW!
1st ($150 / 13pts): Mark "In the Closet" Y
2nd ($70/ 9pts): Ray "Really need to learn to take deals" F
3rd ($0 / 5pts): Adam "Poker Gods Hate Me" J
4th ($0 / 2pts): Eric "ATM" H
High Stakes / 7 Players / 1 Table / 11:00pm
A lot of people doubted my strategy of catching some zzz's during the first break. They joked and jested and jeered. But the $150 in my wallet says the strategy is sound. Those forty winks gave me the focus to shake off pre-flop all in QQ cracked by Daniel's admittedly loose call with A5s. That siesta gave me the strength to bet an implied strong pocket pair on the river and push Adam off a critical pot with two pair on the board. A couch interlude gave me the insight to not overbet my nut flush draw, giving Ray the confidence to all in raise with a lower flush when the runner runner hit on the final river. I might even go so far to say that 5 minute chill helped me crack Eric's AKs with my AQs. That's right. It was a sleep spawned suckout straight.
Lots of 6s, 9s, Qs, flopped pairs, and trips on the board. A complete lack of respect for my raises under the gun. ATM Eric. Adam correctly forecasting his own fall from early dominating chip stack. Martin with an early exit and a long slow deal. Who can Aaron double through now? Everybody. Seriously, Aaron was the only person I was worried about the whole night. He's the only one at the table with a clue. Someday I hope to be in the same league as him.... When he went out on a bad beat, the table was mine!
