That pretty much sums up the game. I don't recall playing many hands at all until the blinds started hurt. I wasn't the only one. Eric was up big early but then turned abnormally tight and bled away slowly. Most players were in until round 5-6. I wasn't a major factor at all in the game until roughly round 6 where I found myself the chip leader (by a very small margin) after taking a nice pot off of Ken as well as sucking out on a hand or 2. The game was about as tame as I remember any McJo game every being.... Perhaps ACL tired some people out.
Laura had a strong showing as did the Raymond and Mr AJ himself tonight. All had legitimate chances for the win until something went south on 1 or 2 hands for each.
As for interested hands, there just weren't any that caught my eye other than Ken's mentioned above. Ken was just to my left and did not raise his AA. He flops an A for top uber set and proceeds to let me bet into him which he calls.. I do so again on the turn and he calls. On the river the 3rd board-club hits and I check. Ken bets and I call. Ken curses the poker gods as I show my rivered flush. Slow played AA bites the dust.
By Round 7, there were just 3 of us left with equal-ish chip stacks. We played pinball for a while with me losing a race or 2 when I was up, which fortunately didn't wipe me out. Finally I managed to knock off Laura with my 99 to her 33. Ray and I played some very boring, very slow poker for a while with me losing my 88 to Ray's AQ along the way. Shortly thereafter though my new 88 held against his AK and all was over.
