Low Stakes / 8 Players / 1 Table / 12:00am Endtime

As usual, players tonight were treated the standard show:
- Who do Adam and Mick hate this week? (Answers: P. Diddy and the touring company of Spamalot)
- How slowly can Martin deal? (Answer: More slowly than you can possibly imagine)
- At what point will the McJos regulars get so impatient with a new player not knowing the rules that they become actively mean to her? (Answer: Almost immediately)
- Will an offhand comment about vaginal discharge be brought back again and again throughout the night, in more and more graphic detail? (Answer: But of course)

Also, there was poker. Several icky rivers appeared, but there was not a ton of drama through most of the play. Having only 8 players never seems to make the evenings any shorter, so we were all still standing after round three.

Martin died first, followed quickly by Stacy. Lee lost it all on an unpleasant hand with Adam, then Tia finally dropped on an ill-advised all-in against Mick's big stack. At this point, Mick became giddy and started stuffing chocolates into her cleavage, then adding them as part of her blinds. I wish I were making that up.

The final four of Adam, Mick, Ray and myself felt like old times - the tyranny of Mark is over! Adam went from second place to out in a matter of three hands. His top pair (Kings) against my flopped set of 6s took a good $20k from his stack. Ray did the rest with another domination of a pretty good "second-best" hand - just an unlucky turn of the cards for our patriarch.

Up until the hand against Adam, I had been playing very quietly (dare I say tight?), since I was getting no cards. I guess patience is a virtue - I just need to get more patient FASTER. Now!

Ray fell to Mick on what was the most dramatic hand of the evening. Big bets, flop comes K,Q,x with the K and Q both diamonds. Small bets and the turn comes A of diamonds. Ray, with AJ offsuit bets big, Mick goes all-in, Ray calls. Mick shows that she now has both the straight (J 10) and the nut flush draw (her J is also a diamond).

Ray says "only a 10 can help me."

And Adam taps the deck for luck.

And a 10 comes.

And Ray rejoices briefly.

And then we notice the 10 is a diamond.

And Mick has a ROYAL FUCKING FLUSH.

Mick then proceeds to complain because Adam "tapped the deck to make a 10 come for Ray." Even after Adam points out that he dealt her a ROYAL FUCKING FLUSH, Mick still thinks he was showing disloyalty or something.

Heads-up went very well if you were me, and very badly if you were Mick. I got pretty good hands and/or put pressure on at the right times. Mick only got good hands when I had nothing. That pretty much led to a 5 to 1 chip advantage and the eventual all-in of QJ versus Ax (I had the Ax, and paired the A on the turn).
